Delete your account

Last updated 15 August 2026

You can ask us to delete your Hammer account at any time, whether you still have the app installed or not. This page explains both ways to do it, what is removed, and what we are required to keep.

1. From inside the app

Open the Hammer app, go to Profile, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. This works in the customer, technician, shop, crew and delivery-partner apps.

2. Without the app

If you have already uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, email support@hammerapp.in from the address on your account, or from any address if you tell us the mobile number you registered with.

Put “Delete my account” in the subject line and include:

  • the mobile number registered with Hammer
  • whether you used Hammer as a customer, technician, shop, crew member or delivery partner

We verify the request is genuinely from the account holder before acting on it — usually by sending a code to that mobile number. We will confirm once it is done, and in any case respond within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

Your personal information is removed and the login is permanently disabled:

  • name, mobile number and email address
  • saved addresses and their map locations
  • identity and verification documents — Aadhaar, PAN, photographs, bank details, driving licences, vehicle papers and certificates
  • for delivery partners, the pincodes you had set as the areas you serve
  • photos, videos and voice notes you uploaded
  • your device registration for app notifications

After this, the account cannot be signed into again and cannot be restored.

4. What we have to keep

Invoices, payments, earnings and payout records are not deleted. They belong to completed transactions between you and another party, and tax and accounting law requires us to retain them. Once your personal details are removed, those records no longer identify you.

The same applies to a job's history: the record that work was done at an address on a date survives, without your name attached to it.

5. When we cannot delete straight away

An account with work still in progress cannot be closed until that job is finished or cancelled — otherwise a customer would be left waiting on a technician who has vanished, or a shop left holding a parts order nobody will collect. A delivery partner carrying a parcel is the same case, and the sharpest one: the goods are physically in their bag, so the account stays open until the parcel is delivered or taken back to the shop.

An unpaid balance does not block deletion. Money Hammer owes you remains owed, and money owed to Hammer remains a debt; neither traps you in an account you asked to leave.

If a job is blocking your request, we will tell you which one and delete the account as soon as it closes.
