Delivery of Parts
Last updated 15 August 2026
Hammer is a service platform rather than a shop, so nothing is posted to you. The only thing that travels is spare parts a technician needs to finish a job, which come from a local shop to the address where the work is happening.
1. What gets delivered, and where
If your job needs parts, the technician raises a request and nearby shops are offered it. A shop prices what it can supply, and the parts are delivered to the service address on your booking — not to a separate shipping address.
Because they are going to a technician already at your property, these are usually same-day, local movements measured in kilometres rather than a courier consignment with a tracking number.
2. How the delivery charge is worked out
The charge is calculated from the road distance between the supplying shop and your service address. It is made up of a flat pickup fee, a per-kilometre rate, and a minimum charge that applies to very short trips.
The rates are set by Hammer and can change, so this page does not print them. You are always shown the parts total, the distance and the exact delivery charge before you pay — on the order screen, itemised, with nothing added afterwards. The figure is fixed at the moment the shop accepts the request, so a later change to our rates never alters a price you have already been quoted.
Where a distance cannot be worked out — usually because a location has not been set — you are not billed for delivery at all until it is resolved.
3. Timing
Parts are packed once payment is received and are normally delivered the same working day, since both the shop and the job are in the same area. We do not offer a guaranteed delivery slot: the shop is an independent business and the timing depends on its stock and staff.
You can follow the progress on the order screen, which moves through priced, packed, on the way, delivered and collected. The last step is your technician confirming they received the parts.
4. If parts do not arrive, or arrive wrong
Tell your technician. They record it against the request as not received or faulty, which flags it to us and to the shop. The job stays open, and we arrange a replacement or a refund of the parts and the delivery charge.
A shop cannot mark a delivery complete on your behalf — only the technician confirming collection closes that step, which is deliberate.
5. Areas we cover
Hammer operates in the pincodes listed in the app. Parts are supplied by shops registered near the job, so availability varies by area. If no shop can supply what is needed, the request is marked unavailable and you are not charged for it.
6. Questions
