Refunds & Cancellation Policy
Last updated 15 August 2026
Hammer takes two kinds of payment: money for parts a shop supplies, and the bill for the work itself. They cancel and refund differently, so they are set out separately below.
1. Cancelling a booking
A booking can be cancelled at any time before the work starts, at no charge, from My orders in the customer portal or by contacting support. Nothing is owed for a job that was never carried out.
Once a technician has started work, cancelling is a matter between you and that technician — they may charge for work already done or for a wasted visit. Contact support and we will help settle it.
2. Money paid for parts
Where a job needs parts, a shop prices them and you pay for the parts and their delivery before the shop packs them. That payment is taken up front for a reason: the shop is committing its own stock.
- Before the shop packs them — cancel and the payment is refunded in full.
- After they have been dispatched — the parts have left the shop, so the parts and the delivery are chargeable. If they arrive damaged, faulty or wrong, tell your technician, who records it against the request, and we will arrange a replacement or a refund.
- Never delivered — refunded in full, including the delivery charge.
If you have already paid for parts on a job you then cancel, the cancellation is handled by our support team rather than automatically, so that the refund is dealt with properly rather than left outstanding.
3. The bill for the work
You are only ever billed the quote you accepted, plus any additional work you separately approved. A technician cannot add to the price without your approval, and the job cannot be marked complete without a confirmation code sent to your own mobile number — so no bill is raised for work you have not confirmed was done.
If work is unsatisfactory, do not give out the completion code. Contact support instead and we will look into it with the technician.
4. How a refund is made
Refunds go back to the payment method the money came from — normally the card, UPI account or wallet used at checkout. We do not refund to a different account, and Hammer never asks for your card details, PIN, OTP or full account number to process one.
We aim to approve a refund within 3 working days of agreeing it. Once sent, banks and card issuers typically take a further 5 to 7 working days to show it on your statement. That second part is outside our control.
5. Partner registration fees
Registration fees paid by technicians and shops to join the platform are one-time and non-refundable, as stated at the point of payment.
6. Asking for a refund
Write to support@hammerapp.in with your order number — it looks like O-1508260012 and is shown on the order and on your invoice. Tell us what went wrong. We will reply with a decision and, where a refund is due, when to expect it.
