Terms of Service

Last updated 15 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Hammer — the website, the customer, technician, shop and crew applications, and the services booked through them. By creating an account or booking a job, you agree to them.

1. What Hammer is

Hammer is a marketplace. We connect customers with independent technicians and with shops that supply parts. We verify partners, carry the booking, handle payment and issue invoices.

The work itself is carried out by independent partners, not by Hammer. They are not our employees. When you accept a quote you are entering an agreement with that technician for the work, and Hammer facilitates and bills for it.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or over and give accurate details. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your phone secure — sign-in codes are sent there.

Never share a one-time code with anyone, including someone claiming to be from Hammer. We will not ask you for one.

3. Quotes, extra work and the price

Technicians quote for each job. You choose which quote to accept, and the price you accepted is the price of the job.

If more work is needed, the technician must raise it as a separate quote and you must approve it before it is carried out. Approving adds it to the job total. Nothing is added to your bill without that approval.

4. Parts

Where a job needs parts, a shop prices them and you pay for the parts and their delivery before they are packed. The amount is shown to you in full beforehand. How the delivery charge is worked out is set out in our Delivery of Parts policy.

5. Finishing a job

A job is only marked complete when you give the technician a confirmation code sent to your own mobile number. That code is your confirmation that the work was done. Do not give it out before you are satisfied — no invoice is raised without it.

6. Payment

Payments are taken through our payment provider. Hammer does not see or store your card or bank credentials. Invoices are issued for every completed job and are available in your account.

7. Cancellation and refunds

Set out separately in our Refunds & Cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Terms for partners

Technicians and shops must complete verification before taking work, including identity, address, bank and — where relevant — qualification checks. Giving false information may result in an account being suspended or closed.

Hammer charges a commission on completed jobs, deducted from what is paid to the technician, and a one-time registration fee. Both are shown to a partner before they accept them, and the commission rate applied to a job is fixed at the time that job is completed. Shops are paid for the parts they supply, with no commission taken.

A technician may delegate a job to their own crew member. That person works for the technician, not for Hammer: the job, the invoice and the payment remain the technician's responsibility throughout.

Payouts are made by bank transfer against the records in the partner's earnings screen, and a reference is recorded for each one.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use Hammer to arrange anything unlawful, do not attempt to work around the platform to avoid fees, do not misuse another person's account, and do not interfere with the service or attempt to access data that is not yours.

10. Liability

Hammer is responsible for the platform, the booking and the billing. We are not the provider of the physical work, and we do not accept liability for the acts or omissions of an independent partner beyond what the law requires of us.

If something goes wrong with a job, tell us. We will work with you and the partner to put it right, and we can suspend or remove a partner from the platform.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use Hammer means accepting the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of India and subject to the courts of Tamil Nadu.
